Qualifying does not mean effortless
CSAT Coaching in Faridabad
If reading passages take too long or school mathematics feels unfamiliar, start with a diagnosis. CSAT preparation works best when you know which skill is costing you time and can practise that skill consistently alongside General Studies.
01 CSAT
Understand UPSC Prelims Paper II
Under the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2026 notice, General Studies Paper II is a qualifying paper with a minimum of 33%. The paper carries 200 marks and lasts two hours; appearance in both Prelims papers is mandatory. Incorrect objective answers attract a one-third deduction of the marks assigned to that question. These are the 2026 rules, not a promise about a future notice. Check the notification for your examination year.
02 CSAT
Reading comprehension: follow the argument
Read for the author’s claim, supporting reasons and limits. Distinguish what the passage states from what sounds generally true. After practice, explain why each rejected option is too broad, unsupported or inconsistent. A vocabulary list can help, but it cannot replace understanding the passage.
03 CSAT
Basic numeracy: repair the foundations
Begin with arithmetic operations, fractions, percentages, ratios and the interpretation of basic data. Write the steps of a solution rather than memorising a shortcut without knowing its limits. Use untimed practice to repair a concept, then repeat comparable problems under time constraints.
04 CSAT
Reasoning: organise information before solving
Translate the given conditions into a clear arrangement or small diagram. Check every condition against a proposed answer. Keep a record of errors caused by misunderstanding words, missing cases or assuming information that was never given. Practise accuracy before rushing to increase speed.
05 CSAT
Build a PYQ and mock review routine
Use official previous papers to understand the nature of the task. Separate questions you could not solve from questions you could solve but mismanaged. Record time spent, the reason for each error and one correction for the next session. Reattempt selected questions after a gap to check learning rather than memory of the answer.
06 CSAT
Ask about current BCM CSAT support
BCM’s existing Courses and Lakshya descriptions include CSAT preparation and practice. Discuss whether your needs fit a foundation pathway, a practice programme or specific academic guidance. Confirm current classes, medium, tests, feedback arrangements and fees before joining. Standalone availability is not assumed.
From intention to action
What does your practice reveal?
| Symptom | Likely study task | Evidence of progress |
|---|---|---|
| Passages consume most of the paper | Argument and option analysis | Fewer unsupported inferences |
| Arithmetic steps break down | Rebuild one concept at a time | Correct solutions without guessed shortcuts |
| Reasoning conditions get missed | Diagram and condition checking | Complete cases with fewer omissions |
| Knowledge is adequate; time runs out | Timed mixed practice | A more deliberate selection strategy |
Clarity before commitment
Questions worth asking
Use these answers as a starting point for a more specific academic conversation.
What is the CSAT qualifying requirement?
The 2026 UPSC notice specifies a minimum of 33% in General Studies Paper II. Verify the applicable year’s official notice before your attempt.
Can I leave CSAT until after completing GS?
That is risky if your diagnostic practice reveals weak numeracy, comprehension or reasoning. Keep regular CSAT sessions alongside GS.
Is a standalone CSAT batch guaranteed?
No. Counselling will confirm the current support format and whether it fits your preparation needs.
Where should I get previous papers?
Use the official UPSC previous-question-papers page linked below. Review your work before relying on unofficial solutions.
