You are a Professor in a college that is located in a remote hilly area. The college does not have adequate financial resources and is on the verge of closing if immediate action is not taken. A local politician, who has gained notoriety for being involved in smuggling, murders and such crimes, approaches the college with a significant amount of money to be made as a donation. His only condition is that you rename the Social Sciences Department in his name. If this condition is not fulfilled then he will not give any money. The Director of the College appoints you as the head of a three member committee to consider the proposal of the politician. You have been given an overriding veto over the other two members as well. The decisions of the committee will be accepted by the College. What decision do you take? What are the ethical dilemmas that you face?
