Jaishankar Reviews Key Energy Projects in Sri Lanka

·       External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar visited Colombo on Thursday to review progress on joint India-Sri Lanka energy initiatives.

·       He met with President Ranil Wickremesinghe, commissioning a Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre and handing over homes built with Indian assistance.

·       Discussions focused on LNG supply, a petroleum pipeline, oil and gas exploration, and the upcoming Sampur Solar Power Plant. Jaishankar also reviewed projects in the liquid milk industry, fertilizer production, and port development.

·       The visit emphasized maritime security cooperation, coinciding with Sri Lanka's moratorium on foreign research vessels following concerns over Chinese vessel dockings.
