Digital Bus Initiative

Objective:

  • To empower young adults in remote areas by providing digital literacy, IT education, and access to information and knowledge.

Beneficiaries:

  • Over 3 lakh beneficiaries so far.

Launched:

  • 2017

Collaborators:

  • National Digital India Mission: Launched in 2015, aimed at connecting rural areas with high-speed internet and improving digital literacy.
  • NIIT Foundation: An Education NGO registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, focused on skilling and educating underserved communities.

Objectives of the Digital Bus Initiative

1.     Reducing the Digital Divide:

o   Bringing digital literacy to remote areas.

2.     Providing Linkages to Government Programs:

o   Connecting beneficiaries with various government initiatives.

3.     Enhancing Learning Interest:

o   Increasing enthusiasm for education through innovative approaches.

4.     Introducing a Multidisciplinary Approach:

o   Promoting diverse educational disciplines.

5.     Encouraging Collaborative Learning:

o   Fostering teamwork and collective problem-solving skills.

6.     Developing Interpersonal Skills:

o   Enhancing communication and social interaction abilities.

7.     Raising Technology Awareness:

o   Educating the rural community about technological advancements.

8.     Providing Equal Opportunities:

o   Ensuring that rural youth have the same opportunities as their urban counterparts.

1.     Digital Literacy at the Village Doorstep:

3.     Entrepreneurship Development Program:

o   Training individuals to start and manage their own businesses.

4.     Public Utility Services:

o   Providing access to essential public services through digital means.

o   Enabling remote consultations through video conferencing.

6.     Dissemination of Government Policies:

o   Informing the community about government policies and initiatives.
