It is very important in the UPSC CSE to know what to study and what not to study along with right guidance. Here, institute plays an important role to guide the aspirants so that they are on right path.

I am telling from my experience, limit your study resources, make a plan and read accordingly. Do not read too many books. Instead, limit your resources, as UPSC requires a generalist, not a specialist. Never go very deep in any particular topic. Just get the working knowledge of every topic and its pros and cons( for any GS Paper).
